1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating a GRIEFWRECK account or using the app, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

GRIEFWRECK is in active development and offered as a private beta. Features may change as the product is built.

2. What GRIEFWRECK is — and isn't

GRIEFWRECK is an informational and organizational tool that helps survivors discover, understand, and track the financial and administrative tasks that follow a death.

GRIEFWRECK is not a law firm, accountant, financial advisor, or government agency. Nothing in the app is legal, tax, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Where the app suggests consulting a professional, take that seriously.

Information in the app — including deadlines, benefit rules, and amounts — may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong for your situation. Always confirm anything important with the relevant institution or agency before acting on it.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. Payment and access

Some features are unlocked through a one-time payment (the Estate Toolkit, currently $19.99). Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your card details.

Because access is tied to a single one-time payment, all sales are final and non-refundable except where required by law. If something went wrong with your payment, contact us and we will make it right.

5. Your content and documents

Documents and information you upload about the deceased and their estate remain yours. We store them securely and never sell them.

Do not upload documents that you do not have the right to use, and do not use GRIEFWRECK to store anything unlawful.

We may analyze the documents you upload to extract facts and suggest next steps. Our analysis may be wrong. You are responsible for verifying anything the app tells you before acting on it.

6. Family mode and sharing

You may invite family members or helpers to collaborate on an estate. What each person can see and do is controlled by the permissions you grant.

When you share estate information with someone, you are responsible for having the right to share it. Once information is shared, it is under the recipient's control.

7. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempting to break its security, overload it, access other users' data, scrape it, or use it in a way that harms others. Don't use GRIEFWRECK to impersonate anyone or claim assets you are not entitled to.

8. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the results it produces will be correct.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GRIEFWRECK is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for losses arising from reliance on information in the app — including missed deadlines, unclaimed assets, or financial decisions made based on the app's suggestions.

If we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $19.99, whichever is greater.

10. Terminating your account

You can stop using GRIEFWRECK and delete your profile at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops. Material changes will be surfaced in the app, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
